New Council Homes

Southampton has obtained grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency to build 53 new Council Homes. Work to provide these much needed affordable homes, most of which will be family homes, started in May 2010. Visit our image galleries via the left hand menu.

Plans are available for download at the bottom of this page however these may have been amended during the build process. The homes are built on 8 areas of disused land and underused garage sites across the City:

Phase 1 (all complete)
Borrowdale Road (Redbridge Ward), Flamborough Close (Redbridge Ward), Keynsham Road (Bitterne Ward), Orpen Road (Bitterne Ward), Pennine Way/Chiltern Green (Millbrook Ward) and Grateley Close (Woolston Ward) (renamed Mary Key Close) - now completed.

Phase 2
Leaside Way (Swaythling Ward) and Cumbrian Way (Millbrook Ward) now complete.
