English Heritage maintains a register of parks and gardens which are of special historic interest. This Southampton parks on this register are Central Parks, Southampton Old Cemetery and Townhill Park.
Development is not permitted which would detract from the character or historic value of these parks. This includes development both within and outside a park which would affect its setting.
