Household waste

On average every person in the UK throws away their own body weight in rubbish every seven weeks. These pages give you information about how you can recycle more, what the council does with the things you throw away and the services they offer to help you dispose of the items you no longer need.

The council provides its residents with a weekly rubbish collection using green lidded wheeled bins or black sacks. Blocks of flats are usually served with larger bulk bins.

You can find out about your bin collection days, what items go in which bin and what happens to the rubbish we collect.
