You will need to make a booking but there are no restrictions on how many searches you can book.
Due to the change of accommodation for the Local Land Charges department from 22nd September 2012, it is no longer possible to admit members of the public into the office area. It has therefore been necessary to review the arrangements for personal searches.
In order to maintain a good level of customer service for people wishing to access the land charges register the changes are as follows:
How to book addresses to be searched
Please click on the 'search the register' link to the left, select the date required for obtaining the data and complete the booking form
We require a minimum of 2 working days to make the data available to you and the booking system will default to the earliest date available when making the booking. The daily cut off time is 4pm (e.g. bookings make after 4pm will default to the next working day).
An uploaded plan of the property/area to be searched is required at the time of booking and a booking cannot be secured without this.
Accessing the data
To enhance the service we are replacing the need to visit the land charges office by making the requested data available here: http://www.southampton.gov.uk/s-environment/locallandcharges/reqpersearch.aspx.We aim to have the data uploaded by 11am on the date requested (data will remain on this page for at least 24 hours from the time published).
If you are carrying out a personal search, you may also wish to consult public records held by other departments in the council. Please see the document below for further details on how to arrange this.
