South West Trains is the principal operator at Southampton Central with direct and regular services to London Waterloo, Southampton Airport, Winchester, Basingstoke, Woking, Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth. It also operates a local service which calls at Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, St. Denys, Swaythling, Millbrook, Redbridge & Romsey.
Southern Trains operates direct and regular services along the south coast to Portsmouth and Brighton. Other destinations along these routes include Swanick, Fareham, Cosham, Havant, Chichester, Worthing and Hove.
First Great Western operates an hourly service between Cardiff and Portsmouth via Southampton Central. The service also stops at Fareham, Cosham, Romsey, Salisbury, Bath and Bristol.
Cross Country Trains operates two services from Southampton Central. The first is an hourly service to Manchester; stops include Winchester, Basingstoke, Oxford, Coventry and Birmingham. The second is to Newcastle and departs once every two hours; stops include Winchester, Basingstoke, Oxford, Birmingham, Derby, Sheffield and York.
