10 good reasons to cycle

  1. Fitness - cycling is a good way to keep fit - without the time and expense of using a gym!Adults cycling

  2. Health - while cycling you are less susceptible to the pollution given off by others because you are exercising your lungs and not sitting still in a traffic jam.

  3. Stress Relief - you don't have to sit in traffic jams, worrying about time.

  4. Pleasure - you can cycle in areas not accessible by car, sometimes getting closer to nature.

  5. Education - while cycling with your child you can talk about things you see and stop almost anywhere to take a closer look. Children can observe the changing seasons, at the same time as learning to use the road.

  6. Time - cycling can be quicker than driving, particularly at peak times.

  7. Economy - regular bicycle care and maintenance is essential for safety, but is much cheaper than that of a car. There are no fuel costs and parking is free too!

  8. Independence - young people who have the support of adults with regular cycling can achieve a level of independence without having to always to reply on lifts from drivers.

  9. Convenience - you can cycle door-to-door and across places that you cannot get very close to by car.

  10. Pollution Reduction - your bicycle will not give off any of the harmful gases which are polluting our environment.
