In September 2009 Southampton City Council awarded a contract for all child cycle training in the City to a private company. The company Cycling Solutions task is to supply professional instructors to train as many Year 5 & 6 pupils in 2009/10.The company delivers training all year round in eight four-week periods, usually three per term and the pupils receive a Certificate/Assessment of their cycling skills at the end of the session.
