Grants

As part of completing an approved School Travel Plan, the City Council awards schools with a grant to enable them to purchase either secure cycle storage or a parent waiting shelter.

The cycle storage is offered where schools are tying to boost cyclists numbers. And parent waiting shelters are offered as a way of encouraging walking at all times of the year.

The government also awards LEA schools with an approved travel plan with a one off capital grant for the travel plan related items.
