School travel plan review

The STP is not a definitive document; schools commit to review their plan on an annual basis. This includes carrying out a full school survey to gather pupil/parent and staff actual and preferred modes of transport to and from school. Schools are encouraged to incorporate the School Travel Plan into their School Improvement/Development Plan in order to ensure its sustainability.

The STP and the issues raised by it can also be part of governors' agenda and an item for the school council to discuss and take action on. In addition, the school will periodically be sent a newsletter from the Council's School Travel Plan Officer, to provide further information and ideas to encourage walking and cycling to school.
