Welcome to Southampton City Council's Parking Service. Wherever you want to visit in Southampton use our interactive parking map where you can search for all types of parking. We also include information about Penalty Charge Notices and about Residents Parking Zones. Parking closed Lime Street car park closed

Lime Street car park closed permanently on 4th June 2013. The nearest surface car park to Lime street is College Street (Post Code: SO143DZ). The nearest MSCP is Eastgate. Use our interactive map to find alternative parking.

snap survey icon Public Consultation on Evening Charges

We are currently running a public consultation to gauge residents’ thoughts on extending parking charges and restrictions into the evening in all city centre on and off-street parking spaces, and single yellow line restrictions. There are three options which could operate in Southampton. Please complete the online survey and tell us what you think about the proposals.

Charging Periods

• In car parks parking charges apply Monday to Saturday 0800 to 1800.
On Sundays, Public and Bank Holidays from 12 noon to 1800.
• Evening charges apply 1800 to 12 midnight every day of the year in our multi-storey car parks.
• On street Pay & Display parking charges apply Monday to Saturday 0800 to 1800.
On Sundays, Public and Bank Holidays from 1300 to 1800.
• Parking is free on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.
• The parking restrictions in most residents' zones (but not all) apply between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
Always refer to information at the parking place for local or seasonal restrictions.

Penalty charge notices

If you park in contravention of the regulations you may be issued with a penalty charge notice (PCN).  You will find information here on how to pay or challenge the PCN.
The penalty charge will be reduced by 50% if we receive payment no later than 14 days from the date the PCN was served.
