Roads, highways and pavement maintenance

The city's roads and footways need regular maintenance to keep them safe and useable. Southampton City Council is responsible for maintaining the roads and pavements and we carry out planned roadworks at various locations across the city each year. The links on these pages give you the most up-to-date information about road and pavement works going on in the city.

These pages also contain links to the ROMANSE sites, which contain traffic and travel information for Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton and instructions on how to report a road or pavement fault online.
