City Centre Deliveries

Charlotte Place Delivery

A system of directional signs is in operation for the delivery of goods to the city Centre. These routes were developed in consultation with haulage groups, and if followed correctly, it will allow goods drivers to use the most suitable routes and avoid unnecessary mileage and delays.
How it works
  • Delivery areas have been divided into groups, each one with an identifying letter i.e. G
  • Within these groups each delivery area has been given an individual number i.e. G1
  • As you come into the city, the sign will show a lorry symbol, with the appropriate letter
  • More local signs nearer the City Centre will show both the group letter and the delivery area number
  • The letters and numbers will be on colour coded backgrounds – blue for the north of the City, orange for the West and Yellow for the east

Delivery Areas

An example would be;

If you know you are delivering to a store that uses service area G1

  • Look first for the sign with the letter G

  • Most delivery vehicles approach the City Centre from the West

  • Follow the G signs until you reach the area near to your collection/delivery point; then follow the signs for G1.

Make sure the Store tells you which delivery area they use.
