Temporary heavyweight crossover or drop crossing

Temporary heavyweight drop crossingThe redevelopment of a site is likely to require heavy plant to cross the footway too access it. Therefore, a temporary heavyweight dropped crossing (to prevent damage to the footway and any utility plant that is buried underneath it) must be constructed before work commences.

Eligibility criteria:

A: Contractors only

Required Documentation:

  • Evidence of £10 million Public Liability Insurance policy

  • Evidence that the supervisor and operatives that are to carry out the work are accredited under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991

  • Include a site plan, to scale showing the location of the works

  • Traffic Management Plan

Fees will be applicable and conditions attached

Fees:

  • Licence fee £185.00

  • Inspection Fee £200.00 (4 x inspections @ £50.00 each)

  • Deposit £75.00 per m2 of reinstatement (minimum deposit £500.00)

  • Fee for manual notices £25.00

Applications:

There are two stages to this application process. The first stage is for the property/site owner/agent to contact Gateway for an application pack, a deposit of £50.00 will be payable at this stage.
