Skips to be placed on private land

If you would like to hire a skip to be placed on private land i.e. a front garden or private road we offer a Skip hire service for commercial and residential use.

Eligibilty criteria:

Skips to be placed on the public highway

Wherever possible skips should not be placed on the public highway, however if this is unavoidable and there is no alternative but to place the skip on the public highway you will need to contact a skip operator from our list below who will apply to us for a licence on your behalf. You will only require a licence to place skips on the public highway, if you are unsure if the location is private or public your preferred provider will have access to this information and will inform you if a licence is required.
All licences are considered on an individual basis and the following are just some of the points that we consider when dealing with skip licence requests:

• Location of the skip

• Overlapping roadworks

• Width of the road

• Size of the skip

• Possible impact on foot and vehicular traffic flow

• Road width/camber

Fees:

(licences are prepaid and can only be purchased by the skip operator - prices for skips placed on or after 01/10/11)

• £16.00 per licence for standard skips, renewable weekly with subsequent weeks being charged at £16.00

• £45.00 for a Roll On/Roll Off skip with subsequent weeks being charged at £16.00

Required documentation:

If you would like to be added to our skip operator register we will require proof that you hold the following valid documentation:

• Evidence of £10 million Public Liability Insurance

• Waste Traders Licence
