Albert Bray

18-Albert-Bray

Frank Bray found that he missed many things about home, including football and cricket. More importantly, his letters make many references to his two brothers Albert and Arthur and his sister Ethel. He often writes of his hopes that they might be able to join him in Canada. We do not know if Frank managed to stay in touch with his family - many emigrating children lost contact with their natural families back in Britian. Frank's brother Albert went to sea on board Royal Mail Line vessels from 1907 onwards. This photograph of Albert Bray comes from the Register of Merchant Seamen and was taken around 1918, when Albert was a steward.
