Local history forum

Meetings are held on the third Thursday each month at 7pm, in the North Guild Lecture Theatre, Civic Centre (in the foyer, outside the main library entrance). The Local History Forum also publishes an annual journal, and is an outreach activity of Southampton Libraries, Arts and Heritage.

17 March - No Meeting

12 April - Discover the Southampton's Titanic Story, With Jo Smith, Vicky Green and Maria Newbery.

The April talk will take place in the Sea City Museum (not the Lecture Theatre) Tickets are £5 and will include a tour of the new museum. Tickets are available from the Visitor's information Office on the lower ground floor of the Central Library.

17 May - The last night of a small town (Titanic) by John Welshman

21 June - Identifying views from a collection of glass slides by Ann MacGillvary

The forum produces an occasional journal containing interesting articles on aspects of Southampton's history. Click on the link below to see the latest editions of the journal.
