Maritime Museum

Maritime-museum.

Come and find out more about the story of Titanic’s crew. This permanent exhibition at the Maritime Museum will help you to discover their story, the jobs they did - how they felt about the new ‘superliner’, their vivid recollections of the night Titanic struck the iceberg and the consequences for them and their families, which still reverberate in Southampton today.

The Titanic story is only part of Southampton’s rich and fascinating international maritime history. Visitors to the Museum can also find out more about the city’s long history as an international cruise and cargo port, and its role as UK home to the Transatlantic Queens!

Generally public do not need to book, although large groups or schools should. This service can be booked by phone.

Regular children activity sessions are held in the museum. Schools can book sessions with the Learing Officer for lead museum sessions and/or outreach visits to schools. Guided tours can be arranged in advance for groups of 15 or less.
