Painter, Painter: Dan Perfect, Fiona Rae is an exhibition of recent contemporary abstract paintings and works on paper by British artists Dan Perfect and Fiona Rae. Committed to the expressive and enduring language of painting, the artists share a deep interest in our contemporary experience refracted through technology and cultural media, with manifestly different outcomes in their work.

This landmark exhibition showcases Southampton City Art Gallery’s vast collection of historical London Group artworks which will be displayed alongside contemporary works by current members including Paula Rego.

The Perseus Series - Burne Jones The Perseus Series in The Baring Room - Permanent Exhibition

The Perseus series consists of ten cartoons in gouache for a series of large oil paintings. Based on a number of Greek myths it is a heroic tale of knight-errantry and the triumph of good over evil.

HrodGilan an heHaifx Explosion Aftermath Afloat - Harold Gilman and the Halifax Explosion: 28 June - 6 December

The largest explosion of the Great War took place in Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia. In the succeeding months Halifax Harbour became a focus for photographers and artists including the English artist Harold Gilman.

Tudor House Exhibition

David Reynolds David Reynolds: Matchstick Armada: 25 January – 7 September

Master Modeller David Reynolds follows in a long line of nautical model builders who transform everyday materials that are readily available onboard ship. His collection contains some of the most famous vessels in British maritime history including The RMS Titanic, HMS Victory and the RMS Queen Mary.
