Southampton libraries are your gateway to a world of reading, information, knowledge and learning. Anyone is welcome to use the library to study, read books, find information, ask a question, meet friends and generally relax.

Membership is free and you can join at any library or join online.

Portswood Library will be closed for one week from Monday 8 - 14 February 2010 for the installation of self-service machines, minor building work and staff training. It will re-open on Monday 15 February. You may borrow books and use the Internet in any other Southampton library which will be open as usual

The Bookbus will be off the road from Monday 15 February until Tuesday 23 February to undergo it's annual Maintenance and MOT inspection.
