Why not join a reading group at your local library. You can talk about books, plays games and meet other young people. Find out if a library near you runs a reading group (see information below).

Libraries that offer Reading Groups


Bitterne library

Book World
Aimed at children aged 7-11 years. They meet on the 3rd Friday of each month 4.00-5.00pm. They discuss books, do quizzes and competitions and make things! Don't miss out on the drinks and biscuits. Contact Liz Loughlin for more information.


Portswood library

Busy Bees book group
Aimed at children aged 7-11 years. They meet on the last Wednesday of each month 4.00-5.00pm and discuss books, play games and do quizzes. There is always a snack (usually chocolate biscuits) and a drink after. Contact Fiona Wilkins


Shirley library

Chatterbooks
Aimed at children aged 8-12 years. The group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month 4.00-5.00pm. As well as discussing books there are quizzes and competitions. Contact Fi Martin


Woolston library

Fectious Fiction
The new book club for ages 10-12. We meet on the first Friday of each month from 4-5pm in Woolston children's library. If you would like to join please contact Tanya Nicholson.
