The mobile library brings library services closer to your home. It is especially useful for people who do not live near a library or find travel difficult.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wishes to use it - young and old. Joining is easy - just ask staff on the van.
Is it easy to use?
There is a lift for wheelchair users and anyone who needs help getting up the steps. There is no need to pre-book. Just turn up and staff will be pleased to help you.
What does it offer?
Books for everyone - adults, babies, children and young people. There are books in large print and on tape and CD.
What does it cost?
Nothing and it is free to request items from other libraries.
Where does the mobile library stop in the City?
It follows a set timetable, visiting the same locations each week, except on a Saturday when stops are visited every two weeks. There is no service on a Thursday.
There are two timetables, week 1 and week 2. They both give details of the stops and at what time the mobile arrives and departs from each stop. At the bottom of each timetable is a calendar indicating the dates on which the mobile library is scheduled to stop. Remember on a Saturday there are different stops for week 1 and week 2.
