Southampton Libraries Prize for Art

Model of a Blackbird The Southampton Libraries Prize for Art is a new project to inspire children to discover and respond to the wildlife on their doorstep. Children were encouraged to submit a piece of art in any medium to their local library between January 1 and March 31.

We have had a fantastic response, everything from clay models and drawings, to many stunning creations using felt, tissue paper and paper plates!

We are delighted to announce the prize winners are:
Manish Arunchalam - for his superb 3D clay model of a blackbird
Charis Saer - for her remarkable drawing of a brown mouse.

All 4 winners will be presented with their prizes at 1pm on Saturday 12th May 2012 in the Central Children’s Library, Civic Centre, Southampton.

If you would like to see all the competition entries, they will be on display in the Central Children’s Library from 8th May – 6th June
