The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games provide an exciting opportunity to inspire children and young people in Southampton to raise their aspirations, learn new skills and develop the commitment, dedication and work ethic needed to be the best they can be, whether in sport, culture, education or within their own community.

The Get Set Programme aims to inspire children to be the best they can be. The programme is a range of flexible, interactive learning resources targeted at 3 – 9 year olds and designed to get them thinking about the Olympic and Paralympic values – with games, factsheets, films, news articles and much more.

This site is very comprehensive and provides information and online resources for teachers and trainers, young people and anyone who works with children.
London 2012 Ticketshare
Schools and colleges which are members of the Get Set network and participating in the School Olympics will be able to secure an allocation of London 2012 Ticketshare tickets. More information on the School Olympics will be available soon, but here is what you can do now to be in the best position to take advantage of the London 2012 Ticketshare initiative:
Step 1 - Register with Get Set if you haven’t already done so.
Step 2 - Join the Get Set network.
Joining the network is easy - complete a really short online application form detailing:
• Why you are so excited by the London 2012 Games
• What you have done in your school/college about the Games and the Olympic and Paralympic Values already
• What you have got planned for the future
It’s that simple! Plus, when you join the Get Set network, as well as pre-qualifying for your tickets, you’ll get loads of other benefits too.
LOCOG will be in contact next year to give you further information about how to secure your allocation of London 2012 Ticketshare tickets.
Are you already a member of the Get Set network?
If your school or college is already a member of the Get Set network, then you are already in the best position to take advantage of the London 2012 Ticketshare initiative. LOCOG will be in touch next year to let you know how you can secure your allocation of tickets.
All you and your students need to do for now is continue to be inspired by the Games and keep living the Olympic and Paralympic Values! Congratulations – you have already pre-qualified for your allocation of London 2012 Ticketshare tickets!
What about the Paralympic Games?
25 per cent of London 2012 Ticketshare tickets are for the Paralympic Games. More information on tickets for the Paralympic Games will be announced in 2011.
