Flower BedThere are many events that take place in our parks and open spaces during the year. Here are details of our forthcoming events.

Summer Barbecue at the Hawthorns Cafe - Saturday, 12 July between noon and 5pm
A sumptuous feast of local butchers sausages, burgers, chicken and tasty fresh salads. Adults £6, children under 10 £3.50.

Flowers and Insects Walk on Southampton Common - Sunday, 13 July at 2pm
With the varied habitats and wildlife friendly management of the Common, there is always something new to discover. Join us for the Sunday afternoon stroll and enjoy our lovely Common with our enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. Meet at The Hawthorns Centre

The Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery drop-in - Saturday , 19 July 10am - 1pm
The Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery, will be hosting a 'drop in' at The Hawthorns Centre on Saturday, 19 July 2014 between 10am - 1pm, when you can come along and meet some of the members and find out about the history and wildlife of The Old Cemetery. Volunteers also have access to the burial database and cemetery maps for those wishing to locate a particular grave or research their family history. Tel: 07538 888 655 for more details.

'Flying Things' Family Activity Days - Wednesday 30 July 11am - 4pm
A family fun day at The Hawthorns Centre looking at wildlife that can fly through the air! With a mixture of crafts, trails and other activities you are certain to find something fun for all ages. Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Suggested donation of £1 per child to help fund future activity days.
