Parks Events

Guided walksThere are events taking place in Southampton's parks throughout the year. Enjoy a guided walk through the central parks during your lunch break. Find out about Southampton's past and local wildlife by joining the Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery on a themed walk.

You can find details of walks in the coming weeks below.


  • Events in the parks are free (except where incidated).
  • Common walks start from The Hawthorns Centre.
  • Central Parks walks meet at the Fountain outside the Central Library.
  • Old Cemetery events are run by The Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery and meet at the main gate at the end of Cemetery Road.
  • Booking is not required (except where indicated) for any of the events.
  • Please check with us beforehand to ensure the event is still running.
  • Please contact the Hawthorns Centre for further details.

Park Events

Southampton's parks provide great venues for a range of events that make the most of our green spaces. There are lots of events planned for 2012. Below you will find details of events taking place in the next few weeks.

Community Fairs are open from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm on Fridays, 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm on Saturdays and 2.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Sundays.

Common management walks commence at 2.00 pm on the first Tuesday of every month departing from The Hawthorns Centre. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Please note walks are not suitable for children under the age of 12.
