Taking your complaint to the Local Government Ombudsman
If you have gone through our full complaints process and you are still not happy, you can take your complaint to the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO). The Ombudsman is there to take an independent view if you are not happy with how the council has dealt with your complaint.
The Local Government Ombudsman will not take up your complaint until the council has had a fair chance to look into the matter first.
If you decide to take this step, the Council’s Corporate Complaints Officer can help by:
• Offering advice.
• Sending you an Ombudsman complaint form.
• Obtaining a translated, audio tape, large print or Braille version of the form.
LGO’s accept complaints by telephone, email, text, or in writing.
