Southampton City Council has an internal complaints procedure already in place. Any person who considers that the Authority is not complying with the Publication Scheme or has not facilitated correctly a request for information may use our internal complaints procedure.

In order to access the council's internal complaints procedure, you should contact the council's complaints officer on 023 8083 3050, or any reception or service point who will be able to supply you with contact details.

Where you are dissatisfied with the outcome of the internal complaints procedure the applicant has the subsequent right to apply to the information commissioner's office, who will investigate the complaint and determine whether the request for information has been dealt with in accordance with the requirements of the Act.
