A proxy vote is where an elector appoints another elector to go to the polling station to vote on their behalf. This page gives you information on how to apply for a proxy vote.

To use a proxy vote firstly you need to obtain an application form from the Electoral Registration Office: the office is located in North Block Basement, Civic Centre, Southampton SO14 7LY Telephone Number 023 8083 2245 Minicom 023 8083 4193 Fax No. 023 8033 0696 E-mail elections@southampton.gov.uk
Return the completed form to the Electoral Registration Officer for the area where you are registered. This can be submitted at any time of the year but near election day it must be submitted by 5.00pm 6 working days before the election. The person appointed as proxy will receive a proxy notice before the election giving details of where to go to vote.
