Local Councillors provide a voice for the people living in the wards they represent.
This includes:
Members of Full Council
As a member of the full council your local Councillor is responsible for agreeing the Council's policy framework and budget, and taking decisions about strategies and functions that are not the responsibility of the Executive (Cabinet).
Community Leaders
Your local Councillor also provides a voice for the people of your communitiy within the ward they represent.
Members of Council Committees and Panels
Individual Councillors also assist in the development of Council Policy, questioning and evaluating the actions of the Executive (Cabinet) before and after decisions are taken.
