Smartcities - Concessionary Bus Pass

Smartcities is a multifunctional card which will allow you to access a number of different services and products with just one card. Browse through the services we offer on the Smartcities Card using the links to the left of this page. The picture below shows the current Smartcities Card design.

Who can use this service:

Anyone can apply for a Smartcities card, although to apply for a Bonus Pass for Leisure or the Concessionary Bus Pass, you need to be a Southampton resident.

Charges:

The Smartcities Card is free, some charges may apply for leisure activities used.

Ways To Apply:

Apply in person at the council's one-stop-shop, Gateway, at the Civic Centre. Alternatively take your application form and documents to any library or local housing office. More information on applying can be found using the link on the left of this page.

Details of service:

SmartCities Pass

You will need to complete an application form and return it in person to your local library, any local housing office or Gateway in the Civic Centre.

Please note that all applicants aged 14 years and under will require a counter signature from a parent or guardian.

You will also need to provide proof of your residential status by providing a document which is not more than three months old. It must be in your name, from one of the following:

  • Utility bill

  • Bank statement

  • Council Tax bill

  • Official Correspondance

You will also need to provide one proof of personal identification from the list below:

  • Driving licence

  • Passport

  • Birth certificate

You will also need to bring a colour passport photograph taken on a light background. Digital or black and white photographs cannot be accepted. However, Gateway are now able to take a digital photograph to be used on your Smartcities card but this is not a guaranteed facility.


We cannot accept postal or electronic applications at the present time

Gateway opening hours are: 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday, Tuesday and Friday; 9.30am to 5.30pm Wednesday; 8.30am to 7pm Thursday.
