Road obstructions


(Also known as: Highway Enforcement, network management)

It is an offence to obstruct the free passage of the highway. Obstructions are objects which have been unlawfully placed on or which overhang the highway. To gain further information or to obtain a licence for activities permitted on the highway then look at the following pages.

Who can use this service:

The service is for any persons that have a problem with the public highway in Southampton and does not relate to where they live.

Charges:

There are various charges associated with this service i.e. skip licence or a building material permit or licence for table and chairs. The customer will be invoiced for these charges.

Ways To Pay:

Customers are able to pay for these charges: online, by phone using a credit card, by cheque or postal order or in person at Gateway

Ways To Apply:

Applications are to be made for use of service at Gateway.
