Local Transport Plan 2006-2011
Welcome to Southampton City Councils Second Local Transport Plan (LTP2). The document sets out the Councils vision, policies and programmes for transport over the next five years. The Council is required to produce the LTP and submit it to central goverment under the terms of the Transport Act 2000.
The plan continues the good progress that was made during the first LTP (2001-2006). In accordance with Department for Transport (DfT) guidance, LTP2 takes into account four shared priorities which we will address over the LTP2 period. They are:
Accessibility
Congestion
Road Safety
Air Quality

Strategic Environmental Assessment
This is the Strategic Environmental Assessment that is required by the European Directive 2001/42/EC, and forms part of the LTP2.
