Guidance: City centre residents' season ticket (on-street)

For city centre residents living in eligible streets to park in designated pay and display bays, Gloucester Square or College Street car parks at any time.

Also, your vehicle must:

  • Not exceed five metres in length
  • Not weigh more than 3.5 tonnes
  • Not be adapted to carry more than eight passengers, excluding the driver (not drawing a trailer)

How many season tickets can I apply for?

A maximum of one permit is available per postal address however, the number of permits will be restricted in this zone to protect the economic viability of the city centre.

In which car parks can I use this season ticket?

You can park in any Pay & Display bays or selected car parks listed below:

Car parks*
College Street Car Park Gloucester Square Car Park*

*Gloucester Square car park will be closed for approximately 30 days during the Boat Show period. Alternative parking is available in College Street Car Park. You cannot use the permit to park in the reserved bays in Gloucester Square car park, or any other marked designated bays such as car club or disabled bays (unless you have a valid disabled person’s badge and it is displayed correctly).

There may be a height restriction in some car parks and you will need to choose either parking in a surface car park or parking in a multi-storey car park. You can also download the City Centre parking map.

How much do season tickets cost?

  • Valid for six months costs £475 (£47.50 for electric vehicles)
  • Valid for 12 months costs £900 (£90 for electric vehicles)
  • A 50% discount is available for council or housing association tenants. Proof of tenancy will need to be supplied with your application. If you also have an electric vehicle then we will only apply the higher discount (90% off)

All permits will be dated from the first day of the month in which they are issued.

For those applying for the discount

If you are unable to show all the required documentation, or we need time to verify the documents submitted, a one month permit will be offered at the pro-rata annual cost.

An administration charge will be made to replace a lost/damaged season ticket.

Refunds will no longer be offered on season tickets issued after 1 April 2019.

Misuse of a season ticket is fraud. We will investigate all reports of the misuse of permits.

Section 115 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act, 1984

Provides penalties for any person who makes a false statement to obtain a season ticket or with intent to deceive, forges, or alters, or uses, or lends to, or allows to be used, or has in their possession any document so closely resembling any such season ticket as to be calculated to deceive.
