Egg boxes – cardboard
Cardboard egg boxes can be recycled in the blue-lidded recycling bin.

Egg boxes – plastic

Plastic egg boxes cannot be recycled in the blue lidded recycling bin, please place in the green-lidded general waste bin.

Electrical goods
Non-working and broken electrical items such as kettles, toasters and hairdryers can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre for recycling, free of charge. The council runs a Bulky Items collection service if you are unable to dispose of it yourself.

Good quality white goods are accepted at a number of charity shops for reuse and also SCRATCH a local charity that helps people in need.

Engine oil
Engine oil can be disposed of at a Household Waste Recycling Centre. Please speak to an assistant at the centre to request the specialised engine oil container.

Envelopes can be recycled in the blue-lidded recycling bin.  There is no need to remove the 'window' from the envelope.

Explosives and ammunition

Household Waste Recycling Centres are not licensed to accept ammunition or explosives. Please contact your local police station for advice.
