Pay the council
There are several easy and convenient ways to pay the council. If you want to make a one-off payment or set-up a Direct Debit for your Council Tax then please visit our council tax payments page.
Pay online
Paying online is the quickest and easiest way of paying us. You can use your debit or credit card to pay for a range of council services online. Your card must be registered for 3D Secure for the payment to be successful.
Bank transfer or standing order
To set up a bank transfer or standing order, please use the council's bank details as follows:

By post
You can make a payment by post.
Please make your cheque payable to ‘Southampton City Council’ and remember to write your invoice number on the back so we can allocate your payment correctly.
