The online mapping system shows Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and conservation areas for properties within the Southampton City Council boundary.

The blue layer refers to trees protected by TPOs, the red layer refers to trees protected by conservation area.
For more information about an individual tree, group, area or woodland select the layer on the map. To view a TPO document select the tree layer on the map then use the 'Download TPO document' button.
The information within these map layers is indicative only. If you are intending to carry out any works to trees then you should contact the trees team first to confirm the protection status of the tree or trees, if you do not then you risk prosecution if the tree is protected.

Privately owned trees can be protected by one or more of the following:
- Tree Preservation Order
- Conservation area
- Ex-council deed of covenant
- Development landscaping conditions
If the property is an ex-council property, trees may be protected by a deed of covenant.
If the property is new or there has been development in the last five years, development landscaping conditions may apply.
