Tenant and leaseholder training 2020

The Tenant Engagement Team organise a number of FREE training sessions for our tenants and residents. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, these courses are currently on hold but we hope to start up again once it is safe to do so.
Below is a selection of just some of the courses we normally offer.

Facebook for beginners

Facebook is a great way to keep in contact with friends, family and lots more. This course teaches you the basics of Facebook as well as helping to minimise some of the risks of social media.

How the Council is run

The council is a big organisation, responsible for lots of aspects within the city, from education to housing, planning to highways and lots more besides. Come to this training session to find out how it keeps the city running and how decisions are made.

Getting started with emails (2 week course)

Need to send an email but not sure how? No problem. At the end of these sessions you will be emailing like a pro!

Online banking explained

Interested in internet banking? We can show you how to get started and explain how direct debits work.

Finding your way around the Council website

In this session we will show you where to find all that useful information on the council website, including how to report a repair, read Tenants' Link and lots more beside.

DIY for beginners

This session will teach you new skills and show you how to fix those tricky DIY jobs around the house.

Staying safe online

Love the internet but concerned about scams? This course will help you spot those pesky internet scams.

Understanding Tenant Scrutiny

As tenants you are in the best place to let us know what we do well, and where we can improve. Tenant Scrutiny is all about tenants holding us to account and working with us to improve services for all. This course explains all about Tenant Scrutiny and how you can get involved.
