Reading groups

Enjoy reading and want to talk about it?

A reading group is just what you need. If you relish a good read and lively chat, why don’t you come along and share your reading experience with like-minded people in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

There are a number of groups to choose from and you can find them all by visiting the Reading groups for everyone website, where you will find details of reading groups in Southampton.

If you are interested in joining a particular group, please feel free to contact the group organiser.

Reading groups book list updated - January 2020

Once your group has a library card, staff will reserve books, arrange to have them ready for collection and answer any queries. They will need to know the title of the book, number of copies required, a date for collection and which library you want to collect the books from.

You can now email your request for books to or phone 023 8083 3007.

Books can be borrowed for six weeks and reserved free of charge. The group contact will be responsible for requesting books and making sure they are returned.
