Managing Migration Pressures Project - Migration Impact Fund Allocation

THE DECISION

To approve the proposals / recommendations contained in the report without modification as set out below.
(i) To agree acceptance of the Migration Impact Fund award, £480,000 in year 09/10 and £480,000 in year10/11( subject to confirmation of Governments spending plans in the Autumn 09 ) and to increase City Council budgets by the actual amount of funds received from the Governments Migration Impact Fund.


(ii) To agree spend on the ‘Managing Migration Pressure project’ to meet the objectives identified in the original Migration Impact Fund bid.
 

 

REASONS FOR THE DECISION

1. Accepting the awarded funds will meet some of the identified cost of managing migration impacts on SCC and Partner organisation services, and developments to reduce longer term pressures from migration, across Partner services.


2. The identified projects will develop reduced longer term costs/pressures on services for SCC and Partner organisations.

Not to accept the funding.
