Agenda and minutes

The following Motion to be moved and seconded: -

(i)  that in pursuance of the provisions of Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Honorary Freedom of the City be conferred on Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, in recognition of her services to the City and Hampshire;

(ii)  That suitable scrolls and caskets be commissioned for this purpose.

NOTE:

Under the provisions of Sections 249 (5) of the Local Government Act 1972 this resolution, to be effected, must be passed by not less than two thirds of the members voting at the meeting.

Councillor Burke moved and Councillor White seconded:

(i)  that in pursuance of the provisions of Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Honorary Freedom of the City be conferred on Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, in recognition of her services to the City and Hampshire; and

(ii)  That suitable scrolls and caskets be commissioned for this purpose.

UPON BEING PUT TO THE VOTE THE MOTION WAS DECLARED UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED.

RESOLVED that the motion as submitted be adopted.
