RECORD OF EXECUTIVE DECISION 5th December 2005
| ||||

PORTFOLIO AREA: | Environment and Transport
SUBJECT: | Approval of the Council’s Implementing Electronic Government Statement 5
AUTHOR: | Sean Dawtry | |||
| ||||
THE DECISION | ||||
Having read the report, including its recommendations and proposals, and following consideration of all other relevant matters, the decision-maker made the following decision: -
i) That Cabinet endorse and approve the City Council’s Implementing Electronic Government (IEG) 5 Statement. (Appendix 1); and ii) That Cabinet delegates, to Executive Director for Resources, the authority to fine tune the IEG 5 Statement prior to its submission on December 19th 2005
| ||||
REASONS FOR THE DECISION
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) requires all Local Authorities in England and Wales to submit a Statement that can be used to assess the Council’s progress to date and future plans for implementing electronic government. The City Council is now required to submit a bi-annual statement. The Statement is key as it will be linked to future Comprehensive Performance Assessments (CPA). In addition, the ODPM will be able to assess how we have invested the capital grant funding made available to the City Council.
| ||||
DETAILS OF ANY ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS
Not to submit an IEG 5 Statement. This could result in the Council being seen as under performing in future CPA inspections. There is also a possibility that the City Council could be asked to return grant funding previously received.
