Carbon Reduction Funding - Mayfield

Due to additional value delivered through the procurement process, the project has managed to deliver an increase in the percentage of new build that can be delivered through the available Funding Allocation Model (FAM) funding (from 60% to 88%). This has meant that the building design envisaged as Final Business Case stage performs significantly better in terms of sustainability measures than that which was envisaged at Outline Business Case stage. Critical in this respect is that the design now achieves in excess of 60% worth of carbon reduction, thus making it eligible for Carbon Reduction Funding as part of the FAM.

The amount of Carbon Reduction Funding allocated to the project is £440,237 and it is requested that a decision be taken to allocate this amount to the project within the Capital Programme. This represents additional government funding that can only be spent on this project, for this purpose.
