    Additional Information

    Biography:

I became a Councillor after many years campaigning and party activist experience, and enjoy representing Bargate Ward, which keeps evolving, has expanded considerably and is highly diverse.

I have a range of policy interests, that include early intervention and prevention in services, health and social care integration, education, tackling inequality, city centre regeneration, sustainable economic development and supporting Southampton's strong arts and culture offer.  I see jobs and education as the two most critical areas to improve the city and its' peoples long term fortunes.

Between May 2012 and December 2013, I served as Cabinet Member for Children's Services, responsible for all areas of service that support our children and young people that include early years, education, safeguarding and specialist services, and also was starting to include the delivery of improved health outcomes.

I am currently working at the University of Southampton in the Faculty of Social Sciences.  I bring over 20 years work experience to the Councillor role both in the private and public sectors.  I have worked for many years in manufacturing and logistics in various operational and project management roles, before moving more recently into the public sector (local government and higher education mainly) as both a consultant and a project manager.

I am married with a daughter.
