£2 single bus fares to be extended on most routes across England

The government has announced that the £2 bus fare cap across England is being extended to 30 June, which is great news for anyone who wants to save money and travel more sustainably by bus. The scheme allows passengers to save on single bus tickets with 140 operators across the country, including Bluestar, Unilink and Solent Ranger in Southampton.

Any single journey of any distance on the same bus is no more than £2, but existing single fares below £2 are unchanged. It may sometimes be better value to buy a return or a multi-ticket, so it is wise to check with the participating bus company.
