Following a mutual agreement with Mytime Active the running of Southampton Golf Course has returned to Southampton City Council on 1 April 2021.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the course was closed for several months over the past year and we’ve undertaken essential drainage, ground maintenance work and improvements to the greens prior to re-opening on 30 April. The current opening hours are 7am-8pm Monday to Thursday and 7am-7pm Friday-Sunday.
The renowned 27-hole course lies within a conservation area of natural beauty offering an outstanding location for a round of golf. The par 70, 6174yd, 18 hole is a championship course set in mature parkland and is regarded as one of the best municipal courses in southern England, while the 2273yd nine hole course still offers par 3, 4 and 5 holes. Facilities include a practice field area, practice nets and putting greens.
Designed by British Open Champion, J.H. Taylor in 1935, the course is well served by transport links from the M3 and M27. This golf course is open to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner. Season tickets are available, or you can simply book a pay and play round.
Season ticket prices and green fees available here. Bookings can be made by calling 023 8076 0546 or visiting the on-site Pro shop. Online booking system coming soon.
You can download the 18 hole scorecard and 9 hole scorecard, which also contain the local rules for the course. All golfers must check in at the Pro shop before play. Players must retain their valid green fee receipt or membership card whilst on the course.
Equipment, including buggies, is available to hire and lessons can also be booked.
