Southampton Municipal Golf Course

Come and play a round of golf at our beautiful course!

The golf course is open to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner. Season tickets are available, or you can simply book a pay and play round.

The renowned 27-hole course lies within a conservation area of natural beauty offering an outstanding location for a round of golf. The par 70, 6174yd, 18-hole course is a championship course set in mature parkland and is regarded as one of the best municipal courses in southern England. Our nine-hole course features par three, four and five holes and is easily fitted into a busy day.

Designed by British Open Champion, J.H. Taylor in 1935, the course is well served by transport links from the M3 and M27.

Opening hours

The current opening hours of the course are Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, and at weekends 6.30am to 6.30pm.

Get Active subscription

Residents living within the council boundary (SO14 – SO19), who are in receipt of some benefits, are entitled to discounted activities with a Get Active subscription on their SmartCities card.

The discount applies during off-peak times in participating leisure venues in Southampton and includes the nine-hole course at the Municipal Golf Course (Monday to Friday, after 10am). The Get Active card concessionary green fee for 2023 is £3.00.

Bookings must be made at the Pro shop on the day and before play. Recipients must have a valid Smart Cities Get Active membership.
