The checklist has been updated in light of recent Government Guidance and is applicable to for all applications for developments of either floor space of 500m2 or more; or one or more residential units submitted from 26 March 2015 until further notice.

New build and residential - 19% improvement over 2013 Dwelling Emission Rate (DER)/ Target Emission Rate (TER) (Equivalent of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 for Energy)
105 litres/person/day internal water use (Equivalent of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3/4)
 
Green Space Factor (GSF) – city centre sites
Green Space Factor (GSF) – city centre sites
An improvement on the existing score of the site must be made. Further Guidance and the tool can be found on the Sustainability page.
For non-city centre sites the tool is currently optional but can be used to demonstrate suitable green infrastructure has been included in the development.

BRE Home Quality Mark – not mandatory but encouraged for housing
BRE Home Quality Mark – not mandatory but encouraged for housing
The Home Quality Mark will be used. It allows house builders to demonstrate the homes they build are well design and built and cost effective to run.
