Types of city centre season tickets

If you park in Southampton city centre on a regular basis, you may benefit from buying a season ticket to get cheaper parking.

The city centre is defined as the area within the boundary of the pay and display zone (controlled zone), and entry signs are placed on all major routes. You can see our parking map.

Electric vehicle users can also claim a 90% discount on any of our season tickets for which they are eligible (the ‘Fuel type’ on the vehicle’s V5C must say ELECTRIC or ELECTRICITY only).


Anytime Season Ticket for everyone

For anyone wishing to park in selected car parks in the city centre, including the multi-storey car parks, all day every day:

  • Valid for three months costs £300 (£30 for electric vehicles)
  • Valid for six months costs £600 (£60 for electric vehicles)
  • Valid for a year costs £1,200 (£120 for electric vehicles)

Overnight Season Ticket for everyone

For anyone wishing to park in selected car parks in the city centre, including the multi-storey car parks, after 6pm and before the next charging period begins:

  • Valid for 12 months costs £150 (£15 for electric vehicles)

Off Street, Anytime Season Ticket for city centre residents

For residents living within the city centre pay and display zone to park in selected general purpose car parks or a nominated barrier controlled multi-storey car park all day, every day:

  • Valid for six months costs £375 (£38 for electric vehicles)
  • Valid for a 12 months costs £750 (£75 for electric vehicles)

On Street Evening Season Ticket for city centre residents

For residents living within the city centre pay and display zone to park in selected pay and display bays in the outer (green or grey) tariff zones after 6pm and before the next charging period begins:

  • Valid for 12 months costs £100 (£10 for electric vehicles)

For residents within the city centre pay and display zone to park on street in selected pay and display bays in the Outer (Green or Grey) tariff zones after 6pm and before the next charging period begins and all day on weekends and bank or public holidays:

  • Valid for 12 months costs £400 (£40 for electric vehicles)

Evening Parking Pass for charities

For use by registered charities and voluntary organisations in on street pay and display bays and selected car parks after 6pm until the next charging period begins:

  • If you qualify, this will be free
  • If you do not qualify, for a free pass we can offer discounted parking at £1 per pass

City centre permit for city centre residents living in Zone A

For city centre residents living in eligible streets to park in designated pay and display bays, Gloucester Square or College Street car parks at any time.

Costs:

  • Valid for 12 months costs £1,000 (£100 for electric vehicles)
  • A discount may be available for those who live in a council or registered Housing Association registered property

Section 115 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act, 1984
Provides penalties for any person who makes a false statement to obtain a season ticket or with intent to deceive, forges, or alters, or uses, or lends to, or allows to be used, or has in their possession any document so closely resembling any such season ticket as to be calculated to deceive.
