Renewing a Blue Badge
Complete the renewal section of the application form and provide the evidence requested.
You should ensure that we receive your application to renew an expiring Blue Badge no less than 28 days before expiry of your current badge.

Your new Blue Badge will start the day after the current one expires.
Returning a Blue Badge
You must return the badge to us in the following circumstances:
- The badge has expired
- Your medical condition or mobility improves and you are no longer eligible
- A replacement badge has been issued for one that is lost or stolen, and the original is found or recovered. The original must be returned
- The badge becomes damaged or faded and is illegible
- The badge is no longer required, for example should you be confined to the house
Please also note that the badge should be returned to the issuing authority on the death of the badge holder.
To prevent fraud please cut the badge in half or into four pieces before posting.
If you continue to display the badge when you no longer need it you may be fined up to £1,000.
Fraudulent use of a Blue Badge
Continuing to use a Blue Badge when you are no longer entitled, or using a deceased persons Blue Badge, is fraud.
If you suspect someone of using a Blue Badge that they should not be using you can report it to us so we can investigate it.
If you wish to return the badge to Southampton City Council, please return it to the address below, with it a small note detailing the reason(s) why the badge has been returned.
