Gateway one-stop shop

Gateway is changing this autumnGateway is your one stop shop for access to council services via our new self-serve terminals. The office is near the Civic Centre: One Guildhall Square, Southampton, SO14 7FP

If you do not have access to the internet at home, you can use one of our new self-serve terminals in Gateway to report or apply for services, including bin collections, potholes, graffiti, Council Tax and benefits. Please make an appointment to speak with an advisor for services that are not available online.

Gateway is at its busiest on Mondays or following a Bank Holiday. We are often at our busiest between 12.00 noon and 2.00pm. You can avoid our busy periods and queues by looking at our website for online services, which are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Gateway is designed to be fully accessible to all:

  • a ground floor location
  • larger, lower accessible self-serve terminals and telephone stations
  • 9 dedicated blue badge parking bays in the Civic Centre forecourt
  • hearing loops at all appointment desks
  • an accessible toilet/baby changing area
  • British sign language, interpreters/translators (please tell us in advance if you need a translator).

Gateway also features:

Floorwalkers - to greet you on entry and offer assistance as required 
Telephones - to allow you to contact relevant council services 
Cash Office - to make payment for things like council tax and parking fines.
