Scrutiny meetings continue to take place virtually.  Meetings are being live streamed by the Council, details of how to access the live stream will be provided on the agenda page for the meeting.  This will be available on the day of the meeting.

We continue to welcome and encourage residents and stakeholders to engage in the scrutiny process.  If you have a question related to a specific item on a scrutiny meeting agenda that you would like to raise, please, in the first instance, email your question to democratic.services@southampton.gov.uk

Carer Friendly Southampton Scrutiny Inquiry Panel – Chair Cllr J Savage 

The next meeting of the Inquiry Panel will be on 7 January 2021 when the issue of information, advice and guidance for carers will be considered.  The meeting will commence at 5:30pm and the agenda will be available here before 28 December 2020.

The Panel will be encouraging feedback throughout the inquiry and members of the public are welcome to attend meetings of the Panel virtually.  Scrutiny inquiries can consider written evidence and members of the public, community groups, or other key stakeholders can write in to bring evidence to the attention of the Panel.  If you would like to submit evidence to the inquiry please send information to:

Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee (OSMC) – Chair Cllr S Galton

The next meeting of the Committee will be on 14 January 2021.  The provisional agenda includes the following items:

  • Safe City Partnership Annual Review
  • Budget Matters: update on budget for 2021/22 

The meeting will commence at 5:30pm.  Papers for the meeting will be published on 6 January 2021.

Children and Families Scrutiny Panel (CFSP) – Chair Cllr S Taggart

The next meeting of the CFSP will be on 11 February 2021. The provisional agenda will include the following items:

  • Children’s Services Improvement Plan
  • Performance of Children and Families Services in Southampton
  • Southampton Safeguarding Partnership Annual Report
  • Draft vision for Children and Young People in Southampton and Children and Young People Strategy

The meeting will commence at 5:30pm.  Papers for the meeting will be published on 3 February 2021.

Health Overview and Scrutiny Panel (HOSP) – Chair Cllr S Bogle

The next meeting of the HOSP is on 4 March 2021.  The provisional agenda includes the following:

  • Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report
  • Demand for Adult Social Care services and budget investments in 2021/22

Papers will be published on 24 February 2021.
